What is the difference between granite and marble?
Granite - durable, nonporous natural stone with a scratch-resistant and heat-resistant surface. It is available in endless patterns and colors, giving each piece its own uniqueness that is unmatched by any other product.  As granite is one of the hardest materials on earth, it is extremely chip and scratch resistant under normal usage. This makes it a popular and obvious choice for countertops.
Marble - waterproof, heatproof and offers the look of luxury to any kitchen. It is smooth and cool to the touch, which makes it a popular choice in kitchen workspaces for making pastries or rolling dough. Marble offers timeless beauty and elegance to any home this porous stone can prevent staining.
Will my cabinets support granite countertops?
Granitex Corp experts will check your cabinet’s strength and stability. Most cabinets will hold as long as they’re study. If you cabinets are not steady enough Granitex Corp experts will inform you. Your cabinets may need to be reinforced if they are not sturdy enough. We will work whit you contractor to reach your goals.
How thick my granite/quartz countertop?
 Granitex corp use 3cm thickness granite for countertops project. Granite industry supplies
3cm = 1 1/4″ and 2cm =3/4″ thickness’ row material. Right thickness for granite countertops is 1 1/4″. At this thickness granite is strong enough to be installed on cabinets, without addition support layer.
What are seams and do I need them?
Seams are joints where two pieces of stone meet or join together. We do seams by using color matching stone appoxy to reduce visibility. Granite slabs are very big but larger kitchens may need a seam.  90 % of home owner will have a seam, because it was imposable to have it installed different.
Can granite crack?

Does granite stain or burn?
You can’t burn it with ordinary use. Only few colors may absorb some moisture with prolonged contact. Could be a problem with dark pigmented liquids (red wine) granite does not stain very quickly, if accident happen just whit it don’t right way.  Our installers will seal your countertops with a specially formulated stone sealer that is recommended for all granite after installation.
Can you reconnect my electrical and/or plumbing connections?
Granitex Corp is a highly trained and licensed contractor for granite countertops, but we are not licensed electricians or plumbers. We are insured company for granite work we do. We will work whit your contractor to schedule time, for smoother transaction. We can reconnect reputable and licensed individuals or companies to complete these tasks for you.
Do you seal your granite?
We seal granite during fabrication process . In addition to this, we re-seal the granite once it is installed in your home.
Where does granite come from?
It would be imported from quarried in India, Brazil, Italy and China.
Can I cut on granite?
Yes, Granite is an extremely tough, durable material and in most cases can be used as a cutting surface without fear of scratching the stone (although knives may dull the surface by repeated cutting on the stone).
How do I clean my granite countertop?
 We will recommend using special cleaners you can find them Home Depot, Menards.
If I fax my drawing with dimensions to you how long do I have to wait for a quote?
Proposals for free quotes that are faxed over are given a 24 hour time frame. We will either call or fax over the estimate assuming that the contact information is provided to us in the original fax.
Can you give me an estimate if I e-mail or FAX a sketch?
Certainly. Please make all the measurements as accurate as possible and allow for a 1.5 inch overhang on all the cabinets. Mark special areas (curves etc), indicate your preferred edge(s), colors, and details of your sink (undermount or drop-in). Also indicate whether we will need to remove your old countertop and backsplash. While estimates done this way can be quite close to the final numbers we cannot finalize the costs until we visit your project and discuss all the aspects of your job. Where do you operate?
Granitex Corp operates within up to 100 miles from Chicago (IL, IN, WI and Michigan) . We are a direct fabricator and installer of kitchen countertops, vanities, Jacuzzi surrounds, fireplace surrounds, and custom designs.
Do you accept credit cards?
We do accept MasterCard Visa and Discover. Extra convenience fee will apply. There is no extra charge for check or cash payments.
How much deposit do you require before you start to cut our countertop?
GRANITEX requires a deposit of half of the estimated price in cash or certified check. This payment takes place at the time of the template. If there is no deposit during the template we cannot start the fabrication of the countertop or any other project.
How long it takes to make it?
Once order is placed through installation the process usually takes about 4-5 days. (This time can vary depending on current workloads).
